FAQ

What is the meaning of "surrender" in a bill of lading, and does a "surrender" limit to a straight bill of lading?
Bill of Lading is a formal document. It is a proof the Shipping company is handling your cargo and it caries weight and responsability. To receive the goods at the other end recepient has to present the original document. This presentation to the Shipping line is regarded as “Surrender “ because it’s so important and it proves who receives the goods. Making sure no Joeblog can come and take a cargo he has nothing to do with.
How can I fill out Google's intern host matching form to optimize my chances of receiving a match?
I was selected for a summer internship 2016.I tried to be very open while filling the preference form: I choose many products as my favorite products and I said I'm open about the team I want to join.I even was very open in the  location and start date to get host matching interviews (I negotiated the start date in the interview until both me and my host were happy.) You could ask your recruiter to review your form (there are very cool and could help you a lot since they have a bigger experience).Do a search on the potential team. Before the interviews,  try to find smart question that you are going to ask for the potential host (do a search on the team  to find nice and deep questions to impress your host). Prepare well your resume. You are very likely not going to get algorithm/data structure questions like in the first round. It's going to be just some friendly chat if you are lucky. If your potential team is working on something like machine learning, expect that  they are going to ask you questions about machine learning, courses related to machine learning you have and relevant experience (projects, internship). Of course you have to study that before the interview. Take as long time as you need if you feel rusty. It takes some time to get ready for the host matching (it's less than the technical interview)  but it's worth it of course.
What do I do when asked for “talents” when filling out an auditioning form? Do I explain my talents or make it short and straight to the point? Please give an example.
Hi Karly:It should be a simple list of special talents you have that would make a producer feel more comfortable casting you in the role. For example, say you are auditioning for a part in a Western movie that requires your character to ride a horse and shoot a gun. Now imagine there are two equally strong actors up for the role, and lo and behold, you have ridden horses since you were 8 years old, and your dad used to take you hunting. Two of your talents are horseback riding and firearms. Now imagine that your competitor • who also read for the same role • has no experience in those pursuits. Guess who gets the role? Which would a producer rather do…cast the actor who’s a pro at riding a horse? Or risk casting the other one who will have to be (expensively) trained to do what you already do well? This is why it is so important to list every relevant talent that you have on your actors• resume. The format should be like this:Special Skills: Singing (alto range, 2 octaves), Sailing, parachutist, horseback riding, driving, distance running, hairdresser, make-up artist, chess, accents (German, Upper Class British, Scottish, Spanish, Lower Class Cockney English, Russian), Soccer, Tennis, Firearms. The MOST IMPORTANT THING: You must ACTUALLY be able to perform whatever you claim that you can do in a near-professional capacity. In other words, if they gave you the role and you had to show up on set or on stage tomorrow, you could in fact do the job.Hope this helps, and break a leg!Cade Jay Hathaway
What tax forms do you fill out to bill as a consultancy?
You are correct that your LLC is an entity, but that does not mean it is not a sole proprietor.  That is determined by the ownership of the LLC.  If in fact you are the sole owner and have not made any type of corporation elections, then for tax purposes your LLC is a sole proprietorship and you will probably have to complete a W9 for many of your customers.  You will receive a 1099 from any customers who pay you more than $600 over the course of a calendar year.  Likewise if you have any independent contractors working for you, you will need to obtain a W9 from them and send them 1099 forms at year end if you pay more than $600 to any one contractor. One final comment, I would suggest you contact a US tax professional and have a conversation about all the various tax reporting obligations you have now as a business owner.  No offense, but from the wording of your question, I assume taxes and accounting are not your strong suit and probably not the area where you add value to the business.  You would be well served to get professional help and keep yourself out of trouble.
How do I fill out the form of DU CIC? I couldn't find the link to fill out the form.
Just register on the admission portal and during registration you will get an option for the entrance based course. Just register there. There is no separate form for DU CIC.
Why did my employer give me a W-9 Form to fill out instead of a W-4 Form?
I wrote about the independent-contractor-vs-employee issue last year, see http://nctaxpro.wordpress.com/20...Broadly speaking, you are an employee when someone else - AKA the employer - has control over when and where you work and the processes by which you perform the work that you do for that individual. A DJ or bartender under some circumstances, I suppose, might qualify as an independent contractor at a restaurant, but the waitstaff, bus help, hosts, kitchen aides, etc. almost certainly would not. There's always risk in confronting an employer when faced with a situation like yours - my experience is that most employers know full well that they are violating the law when they treat employees as independent contractors, and for that reason they don't tolerate questions about that policy very well - so you definitely should tread cautiously if you want to keep this position. Nonetheless, I think you owe it to yourself to ask whether or not the restaurant intends to withhold federal taxes from your checks - if for no other reason than you don't want to get caught short when it comes to filing your own return, even if you don't intend to challenge the policy.
