Instructions and Help about Commercial Bill Of Lading Form

Let's say the shipper uses a bill of lading for a shipment that is incorrect or has the wrong consignee address. That's something that a common carrier won't catch. The common carrier will take that bill of lading and move that freight from point A to point B according to that bill of lading. If the person in the shipping department used the wrong bill of lading and instead of sending it to California, it's on its way to Florida, that could become a problem. So, the next day as we're tracing that shipment, we see that it's in transit to a terminal in the wrong direction. We will call the terminal, print the bill of lading, analyze it, look at it, call the customer, and find out, "Ah, this is going to the wrong place." We will correct it and catch it before it gets too far down the road.
